Built in 1896 by one of Monticello's prominent businessmen, V.J. Trotter, the house and grounds encompass an entire city block. A porch wraps around the house where our guests relax in rocking chairs while enjoying fresh air and bird watching.

Guest Rooms

Four beautiful guest rooms are available, each with private bath, telephone, voice mail, cable television, individual climate control and a beautiful view. Each room is named after an indigenous tree to our area and, one of each can be found in the area.

Dining

Guests are served a full southern-style breakfast, in the beautiful dining Room. Our dining room is also available for lunches and dinners by request.

Weddings

The Trotter House is also available for special events including weddings, receptions, parties, teas and luncheons. The house and grounds make an ideal setting for bridal portrait sittings as well.
